He noted that the penalty was a fraudulent one and that he {Steve Pollack} was totally embarrassed by the penalty awarded though he wanted to win the game but not in that manner.

Asante Kotoko beat NEA Salamina 2-1 thanks to a late penalty by Amos Frimpong sending them to the semi finals of the 2017 MTN FA Cup. They join Hearts of Oak, Medeama SC and Wa All Stars in the hat.

Speaking to the issue on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the Veep expressed shock at the British comments adding that the referee on the day, Nuhu Liman had it perfectly as it was a clear penalty as he was also very close to the scene.

He said; “I am really surprised at Steve Pollack for saying that the penalty awarded his side wasn’t a penalty”.

“I even think he should have been sent off the field for some of his actions and gestures displayed while on the field”, he lamented.

He concluded by adding that; “The Kotoko team played poorly yesterday but Pollack was just complaining and throwing tantrums. It was a penalty in my estimation”.
