T.P Mazembe winger, Solomon Asante has denied claims of his release by the Congolese club and has affirmed he still remains with the CAF Confederations Champions.
There was a media report on Monday that the diminutive winger was released by T.P Mazembe but Asante has come out to deny the report vehemently.
The report said Asante’s reported release is as a result of his refusal to renew his contract and was linked with a move to South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns.
He explained, “Currently, I am a player of T.P Mazembe and I must say I am very much surprised for such false reportage that I have been released from my contract”.
” I am a regular for the club, sometimes I start, other times too I start from the bench, I must affirm that I am enjoying my stay here in DR Congo. Asante confirmed.
“I went with the team to Sudan and just returned to DR Congo”. He concluded.
Asante won the 2016 SWAG player of the year after helping his Mazembe side win the CAF Confederations Cup.
T.P Mazembe beat Hilal Obayed in Sudan on Saturday by a 2-1 scoreline thanks to two goals from Ben Malango Ngita for which Asante was on the bench for his club.
Mazembe will play Obayed on Saturday in the return fixture.
Hem has been part of a hugely successful Mazembe side which won the Caf Champions league (2015), Caf Confederation Cup (2016), 2 Congolese league titles, and a Caf Super Cup title in 2016.
He plays for Les Corbeaux as well as Yaw Frimpong and Daniel Nii Adjei.
