Volley ball Coaches across Ghana have began a three month training programme in Accra.
The programme is being organised by the Ghana Volleyball Association in partnership with the Ghana Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity with 33 volleyball coaches in attendance.
The training began on September 13th and will end on December 6th, 2017 at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium.
Mr. Mostafa Ahchouche who is a member of The Federation of International Volleyball Association would be the instructor for the training. He gave a discourse on the theme “Development of the National Sports System” with all major stake holders of the Ghana Volleyball Association present.
Mr Ahchouche encouraged the coaches to build confidence in their players and not to focus so much on their individual errors as volleyball players, because that would end up with conflicting thoughts in the minds of the players. “This would make them to think about not making further mistakes and at the same time trying implement the coach’s tactics.” The FIVB instructor emphasized.
Mostafa Ahchouche also asked for attention to be given to defending in the game. “Defense is a major part of volleyball system, adding that, a triple block defense should be encouraged and also urged the coaches to train players to use their entire anatomy to play the sport and not only their hands”.
He analyzed several video clips where volleyball teams used defensive the approach systems in the Rio Olympics 2016 volleyball tournaments to claim victory in games.
