Ghana’s football bounces back after the WAFU Cup with the semi finals of the MTN FA.
Interesting parings would see Accra Hearts of Oak meeting Wa All Stars and then Kumasi Asante Kotoko also facing Medeama FC.
All the two semi final matches will be played at the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi. Hearts of will play Wa All Stars at 3:00 pm for the semi final one and then the Kotoko- Medeama game will kick off at 6:00 pm as semi final two.
All four clubs have not been much active but only training on quiet note respectively as a result of the WAFU tournament Ghana hosted.
Kotoko and Hearts of Oak would be much motivated with the return of their key players who featured for the Black Stars ‘B’ during the just ended WAFU tournament in which Ghana won.
Amos Frimpong, Ahmed Adams and goalkeeper Felix Adams all return to Kotoko with no injuries whereas Vincent Atinga, Winnful Cobbinah, Kwame Kizito, Patrick Razak and Thomas Abbey also join their colleagues at the Hearts of Oak camp.
Kotoko have been warned by Medeama CEO, James Esslifie that his outfit are ready to win the trophy and qualify for the 2018 CAF Confederations Cup. The Kumasi based club have already made their intentions clear after pitching camp at Obuasi earlier in the week and training ahead of the mouth watering semi finals.
Latif Salifu and Justice Blay of Medeama SC have also given the assurance of dealing with Kotoko to win the trophy for a third time after clinching it in 2013 and 2015.
The Hearts Of Oak and Wa All Stars will also be very tough for the two teams because with the Accra lads playing so well at the moment they would want to stop the Upper West side who have dominated them ever since they joined the elite league of Ghana football.
Goalkeeper Rashid Seidu of Wa All Stars has also given Hearts of Oak a week up call by emphasizing that “We are a young side and we want to prove ourselves, so Hearts must be in for a difficult opposition,”
