Ghana Black Starlets lost 1-0 to their USA counter parts on Monday at the on going India 2017.
A late winner from substitute Ayo Akinola saw USA defeat Ghana 1-0 and go top of Group A at the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.
The Black Starlets could not reproduce the kind of performance that saw them beating Columbia in their first game.
The Ghanaians lost most of their ball possession to USA in the first half which made the young Yankees dictate the pace of the game and also take control of the midfield.
They created some dangerous goal scoring opportunities in the Ghanaian area,Blaine Ferri, in particular, went closest to scoring for the Americans, but both his free-kick effort and a dangerous-looking strike from the edge of the Ghana box missed the target.
Ghana came in much organised and more determined in the second half which made them open up the tight US defense on some occasions but Sadiq Ibrahim and Emmanuel Toku, in particular could not make them count.
After 75 minutes of play, Ghana was punished for their missed chances when substitute Ayo Akinola scored for the USA.
The Ghanaians committed more men into attack but tried as they did, they could not equalize till the end of the game.
The other match in Group A was played between India and Columbia, the latter won 2-1 and hammered the host nation to two defeats.
USA now lead the group with 6 points, Columbia and Ghana are tied with 3 points apiece, whereas India lie bottom with no point.
