Former Asante Kotoko defender, Henry Ohene Brenya has confirmed that his current position on the Kotoko Technical bench was at the invitation from head coach Steve Polack.
Brenya was seen at Kotoko training grounds on Tuesday working as a technical man, arranging cones for training session as he engages the players in tête a tête discussion.
According to the retired Kotoko defender, coach Polack has assigned him to report at training as part of the technical team twice a week; Tuesdays and Thursdays.
“I was called by the coach (Polack) to report at the training grounds as part of the technical team every Tuesdays and Thursdays”, Brenya told FOX 97.9 FM.
” I asked the coach whether his decision has been sanctioned by the club’s management and he assured me that he has informed them and they are aware of my role”, he said.
Asked what actual role will he be seen playing, Brenya said he would play an advisory role to the players, and act more or less as a team manager.
Ohene Brenya retired after playing for about 10 seasons for the Porcupine Warriors, serving as Assistant Captain for some period.
This assignment would see Brenya taking a bold step towards his career.
