Brong Ahafo based club, Bechem United have been slapped with a record fine of GHc 105, 000 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association for allegedly denying live telecast of their last league game against Accra Great Olympics. The Committee was chaired by Prosper Harrison Addo, Esq.




The said match took place on 22nd October, 2017 at the Bechem Park. Both sides had their destines in their hands before the game as they were placed at the threshold of the relegation zone.

Prior to the said game, the supporters of Bechem United also issued threats to the opposing team, Great Olympics and especially the TV Crew of Star Times. They prevented the official media rights holder of the league from telecasting the match live. The verdict established that the hosts prevented the TV Van from entering the Stadium to telecast the match as planned.


The supporters also insulted the match officials during the pre – match technical meeting. They are also charged with breaking eggs and casting curses on the Match Officials.

The Management of the club have issued official reaction after the release of the verdict by the Disciplinary Committee, they would be making an appeal on the case as they believe that GHc 105,000 fine is too much.

It must be recalled that Aduana FC were fined GHc 20,000 for preventing live coverage of the their league against Asante Kotoko at Dormaa.
