GFA LAUNCH 2017/18 STARTIMES GALA COMPETITION

The 2017/18 Star Times Gala has been launched at the Conference room of the Ghana Football Association Secretariat on Wednesday January 24.

The launch was held at 11:00 hrs on Wednesday will see top GFA Officials and representatives of Star Times as well as participating clubs in attendance.

The GFA recently announced the list of clubs that will play in this year’s GFA Star Times Gala scheduled to be played on Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th February, 2018.

The Gala competition was last played in the year 2005 with Asante Kotoko emerging as winners.

The participating clubs include Premier League sides and teams from all three zones in the Division One League.

When and Where Gala takes place

Saturday, February 3 will be day one for the round one of the knockout gala. Qualified teams will face off on Sunday, February 4 which will witness the Quarter final Stage to the Grand Final.

The matches will kick off at 10:00 am in the morning with Techiman Eleven Wonders taking on New Edubiase FC.

Each match will be played with time allocation of 40 minutes each, 20 minutes for each half.

The final game will have a regulation time of 60 minutes – 30 minutes each half and will head into penalties if a winner does not emerge after the regulation time.

Financial Gains

Each of the participating club is expected to receive $2500 as appearance fees with the winner getting up to $3500  more, making it $6000.
