
Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Pius Enam-Hadzide and
Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah have been suspended by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The suspension comes as a result of the on going controversies surrounding Ghana’s participation at the 2018 Commonwealth games in Gold Coast, Australia.

It must be recalled that the Ghanaian contingent that went to Australia were made up of fake journalists. The supposed journalists were said to had been charged $11,000 each by their agents at the Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Sports Authority.

A statement released by the Communication Department of the Seat of Government, Jubilee House and signed by the Director of Communications, Mr. Eugene Arhin confirmed the suspension.
The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Thursday, 12th April, 2018, suspended from office, with immediate effect, the Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Pius Enam Hadzide; and the acting Director General of the National Sports Authority, Hon. Robert Sarfo Mensah.This decision has been taken following preliminary investigations conducted into the circumstances that led to the arrest of some sixty (60) Ghanaians, who had allegedly attempted to enter Australia by falsepretences, in the on-going 21st Commonwealth Games.The President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah; the Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyeman; and the Chef-de-Maison for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Mr Mohammed Sahnoon, have also been recalled from the Games to assistin investigations currently being undertaken by the Criminal InvestigationDepartment (CID) of the Police Service.Eugene ArhinDirector of Communications
