Kumasi Asante Kotoko were able to hold Tanznian side Simba FC to a 1-1 drwan game in an international friendly
The match was organised to celebrate the ‘Simba Day ‘ in Tanzania and was played on Wednesday afternoon at the Dar es Salam Sports Stadium.
The game was a closely contested one as the two sides gave the fans some good football to enjoy on the day.
Kotoko shot ahead in the 44th minute when Obed Owusu shot past the Simba goal keeper. Uganda’s Emmanuel Okwi who plies his trade with the neigbouring East African club got the equalizer for the home side after 76 minutes of the game.
Felix Annan who was in post for Kotoko ensured they returned home with some glory when he saved a penalty preventing Simba from crowning their celebrations with a win.
This proved as a beneficial exercise to Kotoko as the Ghana Premier League has been withheld due to the recent Ghana Football Expose dropped by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
