Copa Libertidories 2018 – Boca Juniors and River Plate battle for the trophy

The 2018 Copa Libertidories Final promises to be cagey as Argentina’s eternal rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors clash.

the two sides are due to face off in a two legged affair to decide who becomes the champion of South America club football.

The two Superclasico finals (or as they have been called, the Super Finals) will be played on Saturday’s instead of the usual weekdays which are given to the other match days of the competition.

Boca Juniors will host the first leg on Saturday, November 10 at the Bombonera Stadium at 20:00 GMT.The second will come two weeks later on November 24 at River Plate’s Monumental.

The two sides have already clashed 246 times with Boca Juniors winning 88 times, River Plate with 81 wins and 77 draws.

River Plate won 2-0 away on their latest meeting which took place on September, 23, 2018. But this will be the 25th meeting between them in the Copa Libertidores; Boca has won 10, River has 7 and 7 draws. Boca has 28 goals and River has 19 goals.

Boca Juniors Coach, Guillermo Barros Schelotto is being faced with tough decision with the delayed recovery of Pablo Pérez.

The captain could not participate in all the tactical work on Thursday and the alternatives that the technician handles for an eventual replacement is the juvenile Agustín Almendra or the experienced international Fernando Gago.

River Plate trained this afternoon at the Sofitel Cardales complex , a place that Marcelo Gallardo always chooses in the prelude to the important matches of both Copa Libertadores and the local Super League.
