Opoku Ware School and TI Amass, Kumasi, will lock horns in the quest to win the 2018 Ashanti Regional Inter Schools Football Competition.
Amass beat Islamic SHS in the first semi final game played on Thursday afternoon. Amass won by a lone goal in second half.
Opoku Ware School thrashed another big giant Asanteman 4-1 in the second semi finals played on the day.
The Owareans went up after just 5 minutes o play. Asanteman had wasted their opportunity to equalize after their striker cam face to face with the goal Keeper for Owass.
Owass went on to capitalize on a defensive blunder by Asanteman to score the second goal. The Royals o Asanteman then decided to push all into attack to get a goal but unfortunately they fell to a counter attack by Owass who scored to make it 3-0.
Asass came into the second half better organised and more motivated to get goals. They won a penalty to reduce their deficit but that was squandered to the dismay of an at the Stadium.
Their hard work finally paid off when Owass scored an own goal to make it 3-1. The hope of getting back into the game was cut short when Owass got a penalty with Fiifi Peterson scoring to make it 4-1.
Owass will now face Amass in a repeat of the 1998 final in which the Owareans won 2-1.
The match will be played on Monday, December, 10 at 2:00 pm. Islamic and Asanteman will square off at 12:00 noon for the 3rd and 4th place game.
