The Normalization Committee of Ghana Football Association have suspended the referees involved in the match fixing scandal surrounding Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Referees Ali Alhassan, Mustapha Abdulai and Mohammed Issahaku have been banned temporarily from officiating any GFA Official match with immediate effect.
The match officials took GHc 8,000 to influence the outcome of the NC Special Cup match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Obuasi Ashgold at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The match which ended 1-0 for the miners was played on Sunday May 12, 2019.
In an official communique, the Committee asked the Referees Appointment Committee not to assign these officials until further notice.
The suspension is without prejudice to any decision to be taken by the Judicial bodies of the GFA.
Meanwhile the matter would be referred to the appropriate Judicial Body for further investigations in accordance with the GFA Regulations.”
