Ghana’s striker Asamoah Gyan has been en-stooled as chief of Gbui traditional area in Hohoe of Volta Region.
Gyan’s title is the Ngoriya-Doemenyotor of the St. Francis College of Education and the Gbi Traditional Area.
This comes as a result of his great contribution to solve problems that faced the people of Gbui.
The Turkey based striker recounts the chat with his late mother on water problems the befell the school which is the alma mater of his late mother.
The former Black Stars Captain led his foundation to fund the construction of a mechanized borehole in the school at a cost of $3000. The facility come in time to solve water problem in the school which has existed for a long time, where students used to walk 2.5 kilometers to access water.
The Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area, Togbega Gabusu VI, expressed his gratitude to Gyan for the developmental projects he is undertaken in the area and wished him well ahead of the 2019 AFCON.
