Kwasi Appiah to seek redress over bribery allegation

Black Stars Coach James Kwasi Appiah is set to sue Addi Self for defamation of character.

Addi Self who has been identified as a militant of popular musician Shatta Wale has accused Coach Kwasi Appiah of taking bribe from some Black Stars players.

The musician’s ally is alleged to have said that the Black Stars trainer took 40% of all monies paid to the new and young players he invited.

He went further to allege that Kwasi was coerced by certain top officials to fix the new players.

Therefore Kwasi Appiah has referred the matter to his lawyers for the necessary legal actions to save his hard earned reputation.

Coach Kwasi Appiah talked to his legal team on his return to Ghana on early hours of Thursday from Egypt.

The new players who were seen at the Tournament playing for the Ghana Black Stars upon the invitation of coach Kwesi Appiah are Samuel Owusu, Caleb Ekuban, Richard Ofori, Lawrence Ati- Zigi, Felix Annan, Andy Yiadom, Lumor Agbenyenu, Kassim Nuhu, Joseph Aidoo, Joseph Attamah, Thomas Agyepong and Kwabena Owusu.

It is on record that the Black Stars Technical head was not amongst the coaches and national team management officials who were caught on camera taking bribes during the Anas Football Expose in 2018.

The Black Stars were eliminated by Tunisia on penalties from the African Cup of Nations, Egypt 2019.
