The Baba Yara Sports Stadium was the venue when the two giants locked horns on Sunday, September 15 at 15: 00 GMT.

Kotoko got off with flamboyance when Augustine Okran registered the first goal after just a minute of the game from a free kick.

The early pressure to unsettle Etoile paid off when George Abege was fouled around the penalty box from which Okran shot a low shot beyond Bdiri Makrem in post for the Tunisians.

Etoile then came into the game aggressively to find an equalizer but could not penetrate the tight Kotoko defensive set-up with easy.

Abege had another bright chance to increase the tally for reds but could not finish off the pass from Okran before Bdiri saved the goal from his feet.

On the 35th minute Okran was also unlucky when his thunder strike hit the bar to the admiration of all present at the Stadium.

Five minutes later, there was a big crowed shout for penalty when Emmanuel Gyamfi was locked down by an Etoile defender but Referee Hasan Corneh from Liberia waved play on.

Kotoko began the second half with better enthusiasm when they started attacking Etoile right from the time the referee blew the whistle.

They got the second goal through Richard Arthur who before then had had an awful day. After Etoile had failed to deal with a free kick, the return ball from Dacosta met Arthur who was onside to slot the ball home to make it 2-0

The game then lost its attraction when Etoile decided to resort to delay tactics by faking injuries and challenging referee at the least thing.

Etoile will welcome Kotoko in Souse in two weeks time when they face off for the second leg.
