European Football affected heavily by Corona Virus

The UEFA Champions League has been hit heavily by Corona Virus thus coercing officials to play matches with empty stadium.

Italy and Spain have been heavily hit by the virus infection thus calling for immediate attention by Health and Sports authorities in the respective countries.

Valencia will host Atalanta at the Mestalla Stadium on Tuesday, March 10 in the second round of knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League.

Local authorities in Barcelona are meeting on Tuesday to discuss whether to also close the Barcelona and Napoli game to the fans.

The match is due to be played at the Camp Nou next week Wednesday, 19th March, 2020.

With Sevilla CF and AS Roma set to face off on Thursday in the UEFA Europa League, it is also certain that authorities would ask for closure of the stadium to the fans.

The Madrid Community have closed down all schools, from children to universities in the Madrid Region. This measure comes the same day that the Department of Education of the Basque Government has decided to close for 15 days all the schools of Vitoria to avoid the expansion of Covid-19 ,a city that has become one of the main centers of the disease in Spain.

Italian Football Officials postponed most of the Serie A matches in order to reduce the rate of infection especially in Northern part of the country.

Matches were played in empty stadium on Saturday and Sunday including the top liner between Juventus and Inter Milan.

Meanwhile La Liga officials are also contemplating on forcing teams to play in empty stadia in the coming weeks because of the Corona 19.
