Ghana has been hit with a Ten Thousand US Dollars ( US$10,000) fine by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The fine comes as a result of pitch invasion by a fan during the 2021 African Cup qualifier between Ghana and South Africa.
Ghana’s Black Stars played host to the Bafana Bafana at the Cape Coast Stadium on November 14, 2019.
The Disciplinary Committee of CAF made the decision after reviewing the report submitted by the match officials who handled the game.
Awal Suleman was seen sprinting across the pitch during the game and was found Ghc 2,400 by the Cape Coast Circuit court.
The fine has been confirmed by the Ghana Football Association on their official website, www.ghanafa.org.
GFA’s General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, has appealed to football fans to exercise high level discipline during National team matches to avoid such punishment.
