Former Somali Footballer dies from Corona virus

Former Somalia footballer, Abdulkadir Mohamed Farah has passed away as a result of the corona virus pandemic.

Farah died at the Northwest London Hospital in England on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 from covid-19 attack. He was 59 years old.

He was admitted at the hospital last week after testing positive the virus.

The news was confirmed by the President of Somalia Football Federation, Abdiqani Said Arab on his twitter account.

Farah served as an adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Somalia for the past four years.

Born on 15 February 1961, Farah was born in the city of Beledweyne, about 342 kilometres north of the capital Mogadishu. His football career dates back to 1976 when he first appeared in the national schools football tournament.

He was recruited by Batroolka Football Club where he had an illustrious playing career until late 1980s.
