Prof. Lydia Apori Nkansah has been appointed by His Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu II to head a three member committee to investigate the affairs of Asante Kotoko.
This was contained in a communiqué issued today by the Chief of Staff of the Manhyia Palace, Mr. Kofi Badu.
The three member committee has been tasked by the Asantehene to look into the affairs of the Kumasi based club.
Mr. Kofi Owusu, registrar of Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs and Mr. Lawrence Bruce Kyei Esq. private legal practitioner.
They have been given a four week timeline to submit their report to the King.
Dr. Kwame Kyei, the Executive Chairman of the cub with his management has come under intense criticism by the media following two key issues;
- Inability of the management to meet Premier League Licensure
- The $240, 000 fine by FIFA as a result of the signing of Emmanuel Klottey who was still a player of Esperance of Tunis.
Professor Lydia Nkansah is Dean and Associate Professor of Law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
Previously, she held a lectureship at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, where she trained members of the parliaments of Ghana and Liberia on constitutionalism and legislative process; and served as an academic instructor at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.
She helped to establish the third public law school in Ghana.
