The Life Patron and Owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has appointed a board for the club to rebuild it’s brand.
Dr. Kwame Kyei, current Executive Chairman of the club would now be the Chairman of the newly constituted board. This was contained in a communique to the press from the Manhyia Palace and signed by Mr. Kofi Badu the Chief of Staff.
The Asantehene has tasked the nine member board to rebuild the club’s brand in the sporting sector and also develop it to become a sustainable economic club.
”The Board will be the highest decision making body of the
club, responsible to the sole shareholder for policy formation and active
oversight over the management, development, financial control, technical
direction and performance of the club,” the statement stipulated.
”Against the backdrop of recent disquiet among stakeholders and without prejudice to the outcome of the ongoing Prof. Lydia Nkansah Committee, His Majesty has tasked the Board to rebuild the Asante Kotoko SC brand both for its performance on the sporting field and as a viable and self-sustaining economic entity able ultimately to reclaim its pre-eminent position among the elite Clubs of Africa.”
