Ghana suffers another football set-back

Ghana football has suffered another set back after it was revealed that all four(4) African Cup of Nations Trophies have gone missing.

Black Stars in 1982

This was reported by Angel FM in Accra during their Wednesday evening Sports show. They emphasized that all the major trophies won by the Black Stars cannot be found at the offices of the Ghana Football Association.

Ghana is the first African Nation to win the continent’s major tournament for four times; 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982.

Saddick Adams ‘Obama’ who was the host of the show explained that in 2019, he was told by one of the officers at the National Sports Authority that the trophies were lost when their offices were ransacked during the era of coup d’etat.

The Black Stars are yet to win the trophy again after winning it last time in 1982 when they beat host nation Libya on penalties. They have however managed to appear at the finals in 1992, 2010 and 2015 but slipping at the tail end of the finals respectively.
