INTER SCHOOL FOOTBALL KNOCKOUT TAKES OFF AT OBUASI

Ashanti Region’s Inter Schools Football Competition has began with some interesting results. Schools that qualified from the first stage are now battling it out at the knockout stages.

The Football Competition is taking place at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. This came as a result of the renovation at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as reported by the National Sports Authority.

The knockout stage started on Wednesday July 6 at 8 am with some the first match ending on penalty shoot outs. Adu Gyamfi came out as victors after beating St Jerome 4-2 on penalties. The match ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Aduman SHS were too hot for Mpasatia SHS to handle, the destroyed the latter by 4-1 scoreline.

Okess also managed to pip Tepa Senior High by a lone goal in the third game. The fourth game also saw Konongo Odumasi Senior High wrapped Bodomase Senior High School by 3 goals to 1.

Tweneboa Kodua went on to win the fifth game of the day after beating Fast Track by a goal. Prempeh College also pushed their way through after inning by a lone goal against Asare Bediako Senior High School.

The surprise of the day came after Owarieman SHS pipped Islamic SHS by a goal.

The competition continues on Thursday with other tight clashes. Opoku Ware School will kick start the day with a match against Fomena Senior High School.

The competition will end on July 12, 2022.
