The Quater Finals of the Ashanti Regional Inter Schools Football Competition have set up a mouth-watering semi-final fixtures.
Opoku Ware School (OWASS) will face off with Osei Kyeretiwe Senior High School (OKESS) in Semi – Final one and Asanteman will settle it out with TI AMASS.
OKESS was the first team to book third place for the semi-final berth. They had to labour against Aduman Senior High School (ADMASS). Their Quarter Final match ended in 1-1 draw. It was then decided on penalty shootout. OKESS won the shootouts 4-3.
OWASS mesmerized Tweneboah Kodua Senior High in the second Quater Finals Match of the day. The Owarens won by 3-0. The first goal was came within the first five minutes through the penalty spot. They are yet to concede a goal in this year’s tournament.
Asanteman Senior High School (ASASS) suffered before they could qualify for the semi-finals. They went down by a goal in the first half of their match against Obuasi Sec Tec. Patrick Kusi placed O’Sec Tech ahead in the first 25 minutes of the first half.
The second half saw Anokye Kinsman getting the equalizer for Asanteman from a counterattack. The game had to be decided through penalties which was won 4-2 by Asanteman.
The last game of the day saw TI Ahmadiyya Senior High School and Kumasi Anglican Senior High School met in the Kumasi derby. It was a tough game as both sides played out their best.
Eventually AMASS went through by a lone goal.
The Semi- Final matches will take place at the same venue on Tuesday, July 12, 2022.
